JOBS 2010/11 SECOND HALF AND 2011/12

SUMMARY OF WORK SUGGESTED FOLLOWING PART 1 and 2 OF THE ANNUAL INSPECTION.

AFTER APPROVAL BY THE PARISH COUNCIL ON 14/09/10, THE FOLLOWING DECISIONS WERE MADE BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE ON 19/10/10:

Work to be undertaken as soon as possible by the Parish Council

Replace notice on front of dog bin in Brede Lane Car Park. ["Dog Waste Only Sticker" £9.59. Both include carriage] Approved F10/11.29.3.
Install tarmac at entrance of the Sportsfield Car Park in association with the Pestalozzi International Village. {Approximately £4,000] Already approved in principle. F10/11.27.4
Repair culvert under entrance of the Sportsfield Car Park. (Sports Association has the necessary pipe). Already approved in principle to be included with Sportsfield Car Park tarmac. F10/11.27.2
Clean out ditch at Sportsfield Car Park. Wait until after culvert is done F10/11.27.7.
Replace manhole cover again in Sportsfield Car Park. DONE  
Move portacabin from behind the pavilion to temporary position on Sportsfield Car Park. DONE 06/09/10.  
Depending on Parish Council decision regarding the portacabin remaining at the field, carry out permanent installation. NO  
Close off field gate to Sportsfield at river bridge and replace fencing along frontage of Sportsfield. Clerk/RFO to get quotes after garage has been moved F10/11.27.3 and meeting with Sp Ass 25/10/10
Either replace lid of dog bin [Lid Kit £36.20] at Sportsfield or provide new larger dog bin [Our bin is 25L and costs£84.24 including delivery. The 35L bin is £183.09 including delivery]. Replace lid. Clerk/RFO to purchase from Glasdon UK. F10/11.29.2
Clean and repaint Village Sign post. Awarded to R Wood. F10/11.26.5.
Blue plaque To be returned to Signs of the Times as wrong F10/11.26.1.3
Consider additional plaque commemorating Council's 2009 Village of the Year success. Approved from Signs of the Times F10/11.26.6.
Repaint warning sign in Red Barn Field. DONE  
Drainage work as agreed at Red Barn Field and replacement of two well tops (in 2010/11 budget). For Cllr Rand to report at November Council Meeting.  
Printing of 2011 Directory - first quarter of 2011 Clerk/RFO F10/11.22.1.

Replace wooden slat on back of seat in Brede Lane. Awarded to R Wood F10/11.30.2.
Sweep tree debris from East View Kickabout Area tarmac surface. Awarded to R Wood F10/11.25.4.
Replace chestnut paling and white plastic posts at Riverside Playing Field (4 posts in hand). Awarded to R Wood F10/11.32.
Weedkilling awarded to Languard Ltd. F10/11.33.

 

 

Longer-term larger projects to be undertaken if money is available

  • Replacement of tourist information board in Brede Lane Car Park.
  • Make tennis courts a multi-use games area using grant aid.
  • Replace wooden picnic table that is prone to vandalism at Riverside Playground with recycled plastic table.
  • Replace old wooden seat at Riverside Playground with recycled plastic seat.
  • Replace old wooden painted seat outside Church with recycled plastic seat.

 

Work to be undertaken by a Working Party or other voluntary arrangements

Power wash Sir John Keeling seats and ground under seats. Volunteer  
Redecorate frame of Tourist Sign on wall of public conveniences Volunteer F10/11.35.4.
Redecorate noticeboard and replace one handle. Volunteer F10/11.26.8
Make up ground around concrete base of Sir John Keeling seats with soil and grass seed to remove trip hazard. Not for the time being. F10/11.26.7.
Repair top end of Green where grass has been eroded. Insert matting, reseed/returf and protect until grass is established. For volunteer in the spring Probably Cllrs Martin and Vine-Hall F10/11.26.9
Remove post attached to Mountain Ash tree on lower Green. Cllr Martin F10/11.26.10
Remove Village Sign etc.. Hinges and rod to be sent to Signs of the Times. Sign and metalwork removed. Metalwork sent to Signs of the Times DONE
Repair kissing gate at entrance to Sportsfield. Cllr Vine-Hall after fence is done - Sp Ass asked that pedestrian gate suitable for disabled access to be fitteed F10/11.27.8 & Sp Ass meeting 25/10/10
Councillors to distribute dog leaflet, possibly giving out free poop scoop if can be obtained for free. Cllr Vine-Hall plus other councillors  
Attend to and rescrew signs to tree at Riverside. Cllr Rand F10/11.32.11
Replace plastic tarpaulin on top of litter bin at Riverside and decorate wood panels. Volunteer F10/11.32.12
