P08/09.11 Chairman. RESOLVED: That Cllr Martin be Chairman of the Planning Committee for the ensuing year.

16.2 Overhead lines at Sedlescombe. Reconductor existing low voltage overhead lines with aerial bundled conductors as follows:

Results. RR/2008/485/P Replacement of existing timber fencing with metal fencing at 46-52, 54-68 and 53 East View Terrace, Sedlescombe APPROVED BY ROTHER.

The Clerk informed members that the people living next door to The Haven, Sandrock Hill, Sedlescombe had objected to Planning Application RR/2008/867/P.
P08/09.19 The Committee noted that the Planning Portal has written to all parish councils informing them that there are around one million consultation requests a year on planning applications from Local Planning Authorities to a wide range of consultees, including parish councils. These paper-based consultations can be expensive, time consuming and inefficient for all concerned. The Clerk has responded to a Planning Portal questionnaire regarding the way the Council currently receives planning applications and what resources it has if plans were only available electronically.

It was also noted that a standard electronic planning application form (1APP) has been produced which must now be used for all planning applications across the country. The Department of Communities and Local Government has issued a circular which states what information it intends should be provided for the various types of application (Planning Application Requirements). The County Council is consulting on this list of requirements and whether SPC would be willing and able to accept application consultations electronically rather than paper copies.
