Spilstead Farm Airstrip breaches of permission. The following was noted:
- Whatlington Parish Council has reported a list of breaches of the protocol with aircraft flying over the Whatlington avoidance zone before landing or after taking off from Spilstead Airstrip.
- On 06/04/11, the Clerk reported to Rother's Enforcement Officer the use of the Spilstead Airstrip by a helicopter contrary to the permission given under RR/98/1323/P. The helicopter continued to use the Airstrip regularly until at least 14/04/11. The helicopter was identified as an ex-military Alouette II with a Hungarian flag. The Enforcement Officer enquired of the Airstrip owner whether the helicopter had landed at the Airstrip but this was initially denied and he said that the helicopter had landed outside the Airstrip (this would mean that "permitted development" rights to use the land for temporary purposes for up to 28 days in any calendar year would apply). Subsequently, the owner accepted that the landing area was within the airstrip and that, therefore, a breach of the planning approval had occurred.

| P11/12/11 |
Budget Car Company. The following was noted:
- The "waving balloon man" has been measured by Rother DC and found to be over the size limit for an advert that could be displayed with "deemed consent". The owner was informed that it was an offence to display this advert without consent. It appears not to have been used since then.
- Results of four appeals are still awaited. The results will possibly be known in mid June and end July.
- Removal of trees in a Conservation Area without permission was reported to Rother DC on 21/02/11. Several local people willing to confirm they saw the trees being removed. Legal advice being sought by Rother. Would be helpful if Rother knew who the tree surgeon was.
