Recycling Collection. The recycling collection in Sedlescombe after the August Bank Holiday will be on Tuesday for that week only.
Customer Contact Centre, Rother District Council. Rother District Council invites all of its residents to join them in the launch of their new Contact Centre, which will handle customer telephone calls and e-mails. The Customer Services Team will be visiting the Brede Lane Car Park, Sedlescombe, between 1000 and 1200 on Tuesday 23 September
Yellow Pages. Rother District Council has announced that its paper reprocessor has been doing some development work and has announced that it can now accept Yellow Pages with other paper.
High Weald AONB Joint Advisory Committee (JAC). The High Weald AONB JAC has published its Annual Review 2007-8. Please ask the Clerk if you would like to see the hard copy.
Roundabout Sponsorship Scheme. East Sussex County Council's landscape architects have produced designs for a sponsorship scheme for roundabouts in East Sussex and a consultant, Keegan Ford of Hastings, has been appointed to market sponsorship opportunities. The funding realised from this scheme will pay for improvement of the roundabouts and supplement the highway maintenance budget.
Revised Management Structure, Transport & Environment Department of East Sussex County Council. Rupert Clubb, Director of Transport & Environment at the County Council has sent details of a revised Management Structure as from 01/08/08. Please ask the Clerk if you would like to see this paper.
Rother Voluntary Action. The July edition of Rother Voluntary Action's E-Bulletin has been received.
Business Development. One of the aims in the Sedlescombe Parish Plan is "To support business and rural employment in Sedlescombe". As a direct result of the RVA E-Bulletin above, the Parish Council is advertising free Business Clinics through the Sussex Business Link. Click on the spyglasses opposite for further details.
A21/B2244 junction. Following a local resident's complaint, the Parish Council has been trying to get the bollards repaired/replaced in Tollgate Road at the junction of the B2244 and A21. Unfortunately, neither East Sussex County Council nor the Highways Agency have been willing to accept that this is their responsibility, both saying it should be done by the other. At last, the Parish Council can report that, until the boundaries have been agreed by both parties, the County Council will maintain all four bollards. The repairs are expected to be done in the next few weeks.
Household Waste Recycling Site vehicle permit form. If you want to dispose of your household waste at a Household Waste Recycling Site such as at Mountfield using a van, commercial type vehicle, 4x4, high sided vehicle or single axle trailer over 4ft in length, you will need to apply for a permit. You will receive your permit within 10 working days.
Electrical and hazardous waste. Everyone should consider how they are disposing of electrical and hazardous waste. East Sussex County Council has a useful webpage. This page includes the information that "if you break an energy saving bulb, open a window for 15 minutes, put the broken glass into a sealed plastic bag and take to your local household waste recycling site" such as Mountfield.
