The A21 Trunk Road - resurfacing. The following letter has been received from the Highways Agency about additional work overnight on the A21 starting on 22/02/10:
A21 Sedlescombe to Hastings Resurfacing
We are writing on behalf of the Highways Agency to inform you of work that is due to take place on the A21 between Sedlescombe and Hastings in East Sussex.
The work is due to take place from Monday 22 February 2010 for three weeks overnight between 8pm and 6am Monday to Saturday only. It will involve resurfacing sections of the carriageway between the B2244 junction near Sedlescombe and the A28 junction near Hastings.
For the safety of road users and the workforce, whilst the overnight resurfacing is carried out, there will be lane closures of one carriageway at a time with a temporary speed limit of 40mph. Temporary traffic lights will be in use and road users will be escorted past the works at 10mph.
Whilst resurfacing is taking place near local road junctions on the A21, it will be necessary to close the junctions. Road users will follow fully signed local road diversion routes, as detailed below.
B2244 Paygate Road Junction Closure
Road users wishing to enter the A21 from the B2244 will be diverted at the B2244 junction with the B2089 at Cripps Corner, to travel westbound on the B2089 and rejoin the A21 near Vinehall Street. Road users wishing to access the B2244 from the A21 will follow the diversion route above but in the opposite direction.
Crazy Lane Junction Closure
Road users wishing to enter the A21 from Crazy Lane will be diverted via Chapel Hill where they will join the B2244 southbound to then rejoin the A21. Road users wishing to access Crazy Lane from the A21 will follow the diversion route above but in the opposite direction.
New England Lane Junction Closure
Road users wishing to enter the A21 from New England Lane will be diverted via Cottage Lane where they will proceed northbound to join Chapel Hill and then join the B2244 southbound to then rejoin the A21. Road users wishing to access New England Lane from the A21 will follow the diversion route above but in the opposite direction.
Bluemans Lane Junction Closure
Road users wishing to enter the A21 from Bluemans Lane will be diverted via Parsonage Lane, onto Vicarage Lane to join the A28 southbound where they will rejoin the A21 at Hastings. Road users wishing to access Bluemans Lane from the A21 will follow the diversion route above but in the opposite direction.
Moat Lane Junction Closure
Road users wishing to access the A21 from Moat Lane will be diverted via Parsonage Lane onto Vicarage Lane to join the A28 southbound where they will rejoin the A21 at Hastings. Road users wishing to access Moat Lane from the A21 will follow the diversion route above but in the opposite direction.
