Dear All,

Please see below the crime updates for w/c 12.06.2010. It is in a slightly new format and hope it is to your liking.

Once again please feel free to contact me at any time.

 Computer scam update.

This is continueing to effect residents of Battle. I have copied an e mail which I received, which I hope is self explanatory.

Regarding the warning in your email of 12th June, last evening I too received a call purporting to be from Microsoft about a ‘serious problem’. He knew my name. I shook him off and hung up.

I understand that, had one accepted the call as genuine, the caller would have gained access to the PC and downloaded some malware, so creating the ‘problem’, and would then ask for payment by credit card to ‘solve’ it. Other areas have been under this attack in recent months and it now appears to be our turn.

Please don’t forget, if you see any form of Anti-social driving (speeding, using a mobile phone whilst driving, regular drink drivers, disqualified drivers etc), please report it to us via our Op Crackdown system : http://www.operationcrackdown.org/

Or, if you have any information about crimes that have occurred or, possible illegal activities that people are committing, you can always report it to Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 99, or anonymously to Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111, http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH SCHEME

My name is Charles McIlwrick and I am the Chairman for the newly formed Rother Neighbourhood Watch Association which was formed on 18th May 2010.  This covers Bexhill Battle and Rye areas.
Some of you may have already been in contact with me so please forgive any duplication.  There are over
300 people receiving this email BUT  not everyone is a co-ordinator and not everyone is in a NHW scheme.  I am desperately trying to form a full list of co-ordinators. We have re-vamped the forms and ask that those who have been co-ordinators for some time, make contact and get some of the new forms to be completed so that we have uniformity across the area.

PLEASE, IF YOU ARE A CO-ORDINATOR email me on charles.mcilwrick@googlemail.com  giving your name, address, telephone number and the number of houses in your scheme.
IF YOU ARE NOT A CO-ORDINATOR
PLEASE consider setting up a scheme in your road/street.

WE CANNOT SUCCEED WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT AND CO-OPERATION.                           THINK AND ACT NOW
