2004 ESCC Proposed closure of layby in Hawkhurst Road Agreed by Enginneers but need materials
Feb 2004 ESCC New footway south of Hurst Lane Carried out safety audit. Cost was estimated by Engineers at £12,000+inflation of 8%p.a. which could be developed if funding was available from SPC, although some funding could be available for necessary works from ESCC. Currently no power available to SPC to pay for this work but power of well-being expected to be extended to quality councils soon. NB Frontagers have not been contacted (requested by ESCC)
Dec 2005 ESCC Clearance of gully at bottom of Chapel Hill On 19/03/2002, Engineer confirmed that the gully would be cleaned twice a year to ensure that road grit etc. does not enter the Sportsfield ditch

early 2006 ESCC Flooding Long Lane, Balcombe Green, The Street Problem of flooding caused by tarmac surfacing of private road and diverting water into Red Barn Field. Matt Harper of ESCC obtaining quote for laying a drain between the bend in Balcombe Green and the main highway. Negotiations regarding payment are expected to ensue
Nov 2006 ESCC Improvement of pedestrian safety The Green Extension of footway to the start of the wall fronting Queen's Head including dropped kerbing across pedestrian access to the Queen's Head. SPC agreed to pay £3389.16. ESCC to schedule the work for 2007

2007 ESCC Fp 2c diversion Parish Council has agreed landowner's suggestion of a diversion of this path to avoid a boggy area. The landowner wishes the work to be done in the interests of the public's use of the path. ESCC has a backlog of diversions and the path has yet to be inspected
