Red Barn Field Survey Reports. The Council is grateful to Colin Boyd who has not only done a lot of voluntary work this summer at Red Barn Field but who has also undertaken surveys of the land to establish species' lists.
Crime Prevention Advice. Sgt Porter of Battle Police has sent a reminder that ladders should not be left lying around in gardens or at the side of houses as this is an encouragement to burglars.
Electric Blanket Testing in Sedlescombe. Electric blanket testing will take place in Sedlescombe Village Hall on Monday 26 October from 2-4pm.
Pestalozzi Open Day

Home Works. Information has been received on Home Works which offers help to anyone aged between 16 to 64 (single people, couples and families) who needs help and support to live independently within East Sussex.
Woodland Trust. Brede High Woods was acquired by the Woodland Trust in December 2007 and is currently the second biggest Woodland Trust site in England. And it is right on our doorstep. Lots of interesting information is available about this woodland on a new mini-website, including details of activities arranged throughout the year. There are two in August designed to appeal to the family on Sundays 9th and 23rd.
Heritage Committee. The Parish Council has a new committee which has been tasked with considering what should be done to maintain the Pump and Pumphouse on Sedlescombe's Village Green. The Council believes these are important features for Sedlescombe, indeed the Pumphouse has been chosen as the Council's logo. If you have any comments to make about the Pumphouse or the Pump, or would just like to write to support its retention, please do so by e-mailing the Clerk on sedlescombe@freezone.co.uk or sending a letter to Mrs P Raymond, Woodland Cottage, Chapel Hill, Sedlescombe TN33 0QX. All correspondence on the subject will help to support any future application for grant aid.

Council's Annual Inspection. This month, the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Pauline Glew and the Clerk/Financial Officer, Pauline Raymond, will make their annual inspection of the Village. This inspection will give them the opportunity to look at all of the Council's responsibilities and to consider whether money will be needed in the 2010/2011 financial year starting in April 2010. This information will then be used during the drawing up of the financial budget for the coming year which will be finalised soon after Christmas.
