ENERGY SAVING AND FUEL POVERTY. The Parish Council is putting out an open invitation to anyone living in Sedlescombe who would like to hear more about ways to save energy. There will be an informal meeting in the Brickwall Hotel, TODAY, Tuesday 18 May, starting at 3pm. Free refreshments will be available.

RESIGNATION OF PARISH COUNCILLOR. Regrettably Cllr Dellow has decided to resign from the Parish Council after nearly ten years of very active and useful service to the Village. Many people will have reason to thank Ralph for his help in connection with the Parish Council including installation of security equipment in many homes and a lot of footpath work. As well as this, Ralph is always there when money needs to be raised and has been of enormous help to the Parish Council during its campaigns to fund raise for the sportsfield pavilion and the ongoing pump and pumphouse project. His active support for the Parish Council will be missed but Ralph will we know continue to support village people especially the aged, lonely and vulnerable.

Ralph's resignation has caused a casual vacancy on the Council. An election to fill the vacancy will be held if, within 14 days (not counting Saturdays and Sundays and the bank holiday) from 17 May 2010, ten electors for the parish give notice in writing claiming an election to the Returning Officer:

D.Stevens
Chief Executive, Rother District Council
Town Hall, Bexhill on Sea TN39 3JX

If the vacancy is not filled by election, it shall be filled by the Parish Council as soon as practicable in accordance with the Sedlescombe Parish Council adopted casual vacancy policy.

CAR SALES IN SEDLESCOMBE. The Parish Council and our local PCSO have been inundated with complaints from local residents concerning the activities of the Car Sales area in Sedlescombe. On 17 May 2010, the Parish Council issued a press release to explain the situation.

MAY FAYRE ON 1 MAY 2010. The May Day Fayre on the Village Green and in the garden of the Queen's Head was a great success with £1,735 being raised towards the Sedlescombe Parish Council's Pump and Pumphouse Project.

There were many volunteers working on various stalls and games and the Parish Council is grateful to them for their help. Details of how much they all raised can be seen by clicking here.
