MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE OF SEDLESCOMBE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2006, 21:46 TO 22:00, COMMITTEE ROOM 2, SEDLESCOMBE VILLAGE HALL

PRESENT: Cllr P Martin (Chairman of the Committee), Cllr W Cameron, Cllrs Mrs J Mitchell, Cllr N Foord, Cllrs Mrs V Wright (Chairman of the Council), Cllr A Rand (Vice-Chairman of the Council)

P06/07.64 Apologies for absence. None, all present.

P06/07.65 Minutes. The Chairman was authorised to sign the Minutes of the Meeting of the Committee held on 17/10/06.

P06/07.66 Interests. Members were reminded to disclose personal interests in matters as they arose, the nature of any interest and whether the Member regarded the interest as prejudicial under the terms of the Code of Conduct. Cllr Mrs Wright declared her personal and prejudicial interest in agenda item P06/07.68.4 below.

P06/07.67 Appeal. RR/2005/2492/P Hurst House, Hurst Lane, Sedlescombe. Appeal dismissed.

P06/07.68 Planning Applications

68.1 RR/2006/2814/P Hurst House, Hurst Lane, Sedlescombe. Extension of existing track to provide access to previously approved stables and barn (retrospective application). Cllr Martin reported on his inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports the proposal.

68.2 RR/2006/2884/P Catkins, Meadow Lane, Sedlescombe. Demolition of existing dwelling and car port and erection of replacement dwelling with detached double garage. Cllr Cameron reported on his inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports the proposal - also to note that trees and shrubs have not been shown on the plans.

68.3 RR/2006/2959/P 10 Park Shaw, Sedlescombe. Erection of single storey extension including roof lights. Cllr Mrs Mitchell reported on her inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council objects to the proposal which is out of character with the open-plan estate.

68.4 RR/2006/3014/L The Cottage, New England Lane, Sedescombe. Demolition of existing building. CLLR MRS WRIGHT DECLARED HER PERSONAL AND PREJUCIAL INTEREST BY VIRTUE OF HER BEING A NEAR NEIGHBOUR OF THE APPLICANT. SHE LEFT THE ROOM DURING THE DISCUSSION. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports the proposal.

P06/07.69 Planning Results. To be reported at the next meeting.

P06/07.70 Direction Sign for A21. Cllr Rand reported that he was still speaking with the Highways Agency and Rother District Council concerning the proposed sign. Rother Planning Department is supporting the proposal but the Highways Agency is not.
