As part of the Local Development Framework (LDF), Rother District Council is contacting organisations that may wish to submit a site for consideration for inclusion in the Site Allocations Development Plan. Like all local authorities, Rother has development targets which are set at the regional level by the Regional Assembly. The South East Plan requires an annual average of 280 new homes to be built in Rother every year to 2026. Submitted sites for residential development must be capable of accommodating at least 6 dwellings. Sites can also be submitted for employment, retail, leisure, open space & recreation etc. and these sites must be at least 0.2 hectares. Although submissions on rural and Greenfield sites will be accepted for consideration, Rother will give preference to brownfield sites in environmentally sustainable locations, such as within development boundaries.
