Sedlescombe Pavilion Tenders. Members discussed the analysis of the three pavilion tenders. RESOLVED: That the details provided by Steed Construction Limited of 14/02/08 will be the Parish Council's preferred tender option for the work in accordance with the construction notes 2766/N/1/A, excluding the piles and slab, to be used to work towards a proper lump sum price for the total job including the piles and slab.

RESOLVED: That the Clerk/RFO is authorised to inform the other 2 contractors that their tenders are not the current preferred options.

The details provided by Steed Construction Limited will be used to draw up the Cost Plan and Budget for submission to The Big Lottery Fund, the Football Association and Battle Partnership.

The Committee discussed the Clerk's Briefing Note on "Financing of New Sports Pavilion at Sedlescombe Sportsfield" dated 19/02/08, in which the cost of financing any shortfall in funding with a Public Works Loan Board loan and the impact on the Council Tax is considered. It was suggested that local fund-raising is likely to be successful, minimising the amount needed to be funded through a loan.

It was noted that the timetable provided in the Briefing has to be carefully monitored because borrowing approval needs to be taken up within six months and work needs to have commenced within six months of a Big Lottery Grant.
