YOU ARE HEREBY SUMMONED TO ATTEND THE MEETING OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE OF SEDLESCOMBE PARISH COUNCIL TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY 29 JUNE 2010 AT 19:00 IN COMMITTEE ROOM 2 OF SEDLESCOMBE VILLAGE HALL

F10/11.1 Election of Chairman of the Committee. To elect the Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing year.
F10/11.2 Apologies and reasons for absence.To receive apologies and reasons for absence.

Interests. To receive disclosures of personal and prejudicial interests from Councillors on matters to be considered at the meeting in accordance with the adopted Code of Conduct 2007. The disclosure must include the nature of the interest. If you become aware, during the course of a meeting, of an interest that has not been disclosed under this item you must immediately disclose it. You may remain in the meeting and take part fully in discussion and voting unless the interest is prejudicial.

 

A personal interest is prejudicial if a member of the public with knowledge of the relevant facts would reasonably regard it as so significant that it is likely to prejudice your judgement of the public interest and it relates to a financial or regulatory matter.

 

Members are reminded to repeat the declarations when the items are announced by the Chairman.

F10/11.4 Prejudiced members' participation. Chairman to ask prejudiced members (if any) whether they wish to make representation, answer questions or give evidence to the Committee with regard to items on the agenda. At the Chairman's discretion, members will be allowed to make their representations etc. at the beginning of the appropriate agenda item and to leave the meeting during the representations made by the public and the deliberations of the Committee.
F10/11.5 Public participation session. Chairman to ask any members of the public whether they wish to make representation, answer questions or give evidence with regard to items on the agenda. At the Chairman's discretion, the public will be allowed to make their representations etc. at the beginning of the appropriate agenda item, after prejudiced members' participation. The Chairman should inform the public that their names will be recorded and representations etc. minuted.

    1. New pictorial sign approved F09/10.38.3. Quality Council Grant received but half of the amount expected. F09/10.54.3 agreed use of the Village of the Year prizemoney to make up the balance (however, this was when a small shortfall was expected).
    2. Sir John Keeling seats - maintenance to be carried out by Cllr Rand.
    3. Pumphouse and Pump Restoration.
      1. Part 1 - new railings, wooden and lead pump casings and pumphouse repairs.
      2. Part 2 - work to bring pump back into working condition, provision of education resources.
    4. 2011 Fund-raising event on Village Green. Should an event by arranged by the Parish Council?

    5. Moles - Rother DC advertises pest control charges of £150 for initial treatment of one or two visits with £40 for each subsequent visit within three months. No other local pest control operators have been found on the internet.

  7. Business advertisisng in Directory. Two invoices (Clockhouse and J Saull-Hunt) of £20 each remain outstanding despite frequent reminders.

Playing Field Trust. To approve a claim by the Parish Council on the Trust to cover maintenance of the trust property.

F10/11.11 Dog bin emptying charges. Rother DC is now charging £6/week to empty Sedlescombe's three bins (£312 p.a.) inclusive of plastic sacks and management costs.
F10/11.12 2010/11 Budget Monitoring. To resolve "That the 2010/11 First Quarter Review Figures are accepted".
