MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE OF SEDLESCOMBE PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN SEDLESCOMBE VILLAGE HALL COMMITTEE ROOM 2 ON TUESDAY 20 NOVEMBER 2012, 21:22 to 21:35

NB Cllr Parsons had been appointed to the Planning Committee at the earlier Parish Council meeting.

P12/13.70 Apologies and reasons for absence. None, all present.

Declarations of personal and pecuniary interests from Councillors on matters to be considered at the meeting in accordance with the Code of Conduct 2012. None.

P12/13.72 Written requests from councillors for dispensation. It was noted that written requests from Cllrs Glew, Mitchell and Parsons for dispensation to allow them to take a full part in discussions and voting re the proposed Brede Lane development, despite their interests as Village Hall Trustees, had been approved at the earlier Parish Council meeting.

P12/13.74 Minutes. RESOLVED: That the Chairman of the Committee is authorised to sign the Minutes of the Meeting of the Planning Committee held on 30/10/12.

Planning Applications.

  1. RR/2012/2102/T Asselton House, The Green, Sedlescombe. Remove 7 trees: 1 holly and 1 yew. This application has already been approved by Rother DC.

  2. RR/2012/2114/P Hurst Cottage, Hurst Lane, Sedlescombe. Replacement dwelling. A parish councillor is the applicant and, therefore, the Parish Council will not be commenting.

  3. RR/2012/2172/P Park View, The Street, Sedlescombe. Variation of condition 14 imposed on RR/2010/1131/P for repositioning of proposed dwellings on plots 2 and 3. Deletion of cart lodge (large) and use smaller one. Revised car parking. [Reason according to application form - to preserve in situ archaeology.] The Clerk had written to the County Archaeologist requesting further information. Reply awaited. As the application appears to be just minor layout amendments, it was RESOLVED: That the Parish Council will make "No comment".

  4. RR/2012/2234/P 37 Gorselands, Sedlescombe. Decking to the rear of the property to enable safe access to the garden and to provide an outdoor area for disabled persons to safely access (part retrospective). Cllr Glew reported on her inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval of this application.

  5. RR/2012/716/MA1 East View Terrace - garages to rear. Non-material amendment to RR/2012/716/P - retention and refurbishment to the two end garages adjacent to existing property No.35 East View Terrace. Garages to be reroofed, brick clad to match new dwelling, new doors and retaining wall of steel posts and infill sleepers. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval of this application.

Enforcement List

  1. ENF/SED/713 Bridge Garage - rear of - The Street, Sedlescombe. Erection of Paint Spraying Booth. Correction - Enforcement Notice served 26/09/12 requiring removal of the building took effect on 01/11/12 with 2 months for compliance unless there is an appeal.
