Trust purposes of the Charity Commission Scheme, Charity Number 305305:
To use 1.8 acres of land beside the river which make up the Public Playing Field and Recreation Ground for the provision and maintenance of a recreation ground or playing field for the benefit of the inhabitants of Sedlescombe and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions. The Council may provide, or assist in the provision of, on the trust property, such facilities for physical exercise and training, lectures, classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation having the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants as the Council shall from time to time think fit. In addition, the Council can allow the land to be used for other purposes as long as the use does not substantially interfere with its recreational use. Under certain circumstances, the Council may be able to sell the land

A MEETING OF THE SEDLESCOMBE PUBLIC PLAYING FIELD & RECREATION GROUND TRUST IS TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY 10 MARCH 2009 IN COMMITTEE ROOM 2 OF THE VILLAGE HALL FOLLOWING THE MEETING OF SEDLESCOMBE PARISH COUNCIL

T08/09.16 To receive apologies for absence.
T08/09.17Minutes of trust meeting 16/12/08 To authorise the Chairman to sign the Minutes of the Meeting of the Trust held on 16/12/2008.
T08/09.18 Tennis courts
  1. Use by the Sedlescombe Netball Club. At the last meeting, the Trust agreed in principle to the Netball Club continuing to use the tennis court(s) free of charge on a Monday evening in exchange for a donation. The Club has informed the Council that it would like to use one of the courts on Monday and Wednesday evenings each week from 19:00 to 20:00 or 20:30 if it is light enough. This arrangement to start from April. The Club intends to join the Sports Association. Trust to give the subject further consideration.

  2. Use by Sedlescombe Junior Netball Club. Sue Ham, the organiser of this new club would like to use Sedlescombe Tennis Courts as the Junior Netball Club's "homeground", maybe using the courts prior to use by the senior club and also during the holidays.
T08/09.19 Charity Account
  1. To note that, as approved at the last meeting, a separate Barclays Bank community account has been opened for the charity.
  2. To receive the Secretary's report on the current bank situation.
T08/09.20 Funding Opportunities
  1. To note that Rother has changed the arrangements for £50,000 funding for one parish in the Play Pathfinder scheme to £10,000 funding for five parishes.
  2. To note that Battle Town Council has been successful in its bid for a Biffaward for turning its tennis courts into a Multi Use Games Area. The Trust could be eligible for a grant from the Veolia Environmental Trust for this purpose. The majority of grants are between £30,000 and £40,000 with the maximum grant available being £150,000 (rare). Projects over £25,000 must have secured 20% match funding.
