SEDLESCOMBE PUBLIC PLAYING FIELD & RECREATION GROUND TRUST MINUTES

Trust purposes of the Charity Commission Scheme, Charity Number 305305:
To use 1.8 acres of land beside the river which make up the Public Playing Field and Recreation Ground for the provision and maintenance of a recreation ground or playing field for the benefit of the inhabitants of Sedlescombe and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions. The Council may provide, or assist in the provision of, on the trust property, such facilities for physical exercise and training, lectures, classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation having the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants as the Council shall from time to time think fit. In addition, the Council can allow the land to be used for other purposes as long as the use does not substantially interfere with its recreational use. Under certain circumstances, the Council may be able to sell the land

A MEETING OF THE SEDLESCOMBE PUBLIC PLAYING FIELD & RECREATION GROUND TRUST WAS HELD ON TUESDAY 9 MARCH 2010 IN COMMITTEE ROOM 2 OF THE VILLAGE HALL, 2133-2140

 

TR09/10.13 Apologies for absence. None. All present.
TR09/10.14 Minutes of the Meeting of the Trust held on 08/09/09. RESOLVED: That the Chairman should sign the Minutes of the Trust Meeting held on 08/09/09.
TR09/10.15 Matters arising from the Minutes
15.1 New litter bin for Riverside playground. Obtained.
15.2 Possible use of tennis courts by Football Club. Courts not suitable because posts cannot be removed.
15.3 Use of courts by the Netball Clubs. The Secretary reported that an agreement had been reached at the start of the 2009 season for the Netball Clubs (senior and junior combined) to pay £60 to the Playing Field Trust every four weeks for the use of one court on two evenings a week for netball training. The Clubs had made the agreed payments up to the end of July 2009 but payment for August and part of September was still awaited. The Chairman of the Club had assured the Secretary that the money would be paid over this week.

The Secretary was in contact with HM Revenue & Customs regarding the charging of VAT.

RESOLVED: That, following confirmation by the Club of a proposed use of one evening a week only but for both courts, the Club will be asked to pay the Trust £60 (plusVat if payable) in arrears to cover four sessions of two hours each. No payment will be required if the weather prevents use of the courts.

TR09/10.16 Other uses of the tennis courts. Further consideration will be given to other uses of the tennis courts including use as a Multi Use Games Area.
