Jonathan joined the Parish Council in August 2010, has been its Chairman since May 2012. Jonathan is an ex-officio member of every committee and is actively involved in all aspects of the Parish Council’s work representing the Council on a number of related bodies.

Jonathan has lived in Sedlescombe since 2003 and farms Hurst Estate between Brede Lane and Cripps Corner. He has 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue horses and 1 rescue cat. Having been a trustee for Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare for 10 years and Chairman for 4 years he was appointed Vice President in December 2022.
