Planning information within the parish of Sedlescombe

PLANNING is a very important part of the Parish Council’s work. Although, to date, the Parish Council cannot make decisions, it can influence, through plans and comments, building development in the parish. This is particularly true since the Parish Council decided in February 2013 to undertake a limited Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan.

Regarding planning applications, Rother District Council must take Parish Council comments into account when determining the application. Parish councillors have adopted a Planning Policy and inspect every site where there is a planning application in the parish prior to Planning Committee Meetings. All Meetings are open to the public who, at the Chairman’s discretion, may speak on matters on the agendas.
